Schenectady Man Arrested for Stabbing Puppy

Police have arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly stabbing a puppy, resulting in the animal’s eventual death, said the Schenectady County SPCA.

Kenya Latee’ Bunch was arrested Wednesday morning at a Schenectady hotel on Central Ave. after an investigation by the US Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Fugitive Task Force, the Schenectady Police Department and the Schenectady County SPCA.

According to County SPCA inspector David Dean, an arrest warrant was issued for Bunch’s arrest Feb. 11 when police responded to a domestic violence call. Bunch returned to the home on Feb. 20, and in an extension of the domestic dispute, stabbed the eight-month-old pitbull, severing its spinal cord. The dog later died. Bunch was charged with aggravated animal abuse, said Dean.
