A 28-year-old Schenectady man will be sentenced to prison after he admitted Wednesday to abusing two dogs to their deaths.
Thomas Hendricks will be sentenced to up to two years in prison, part of a plea agreement for his January 26th arrest in connection with the deaths of three dogs.
One other dog, a toy poodle named Carmella, survived Hendrick’s abuse, and was put for adoption at the Schenectady County SPCA.
The county SPCA said Carmella was held under scalding water and had her fur ripped from her body by Hendricks.
Police learned of the animal abuse when they were called to Hendricks’ home in the city’s Stockade area for a report of domestic violence, and turned the investigation over to Schenectady County SPCA.
