More Than a Dozen Chihuahuas Rescued From Home

Daily Gazette

Rescuers removed more than a dozen Chihuahuas that were locked in four crates stowed in a storage locker at a mobile home park on Western Turnpike.

Members of the Schenectady County chapter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals received a tip about the dogs Thursday from someone who heard them whimpering inside a locker stowed at the Hillside Commons Mobile Home Park. The dogs were alive, but their welfare wasn’t immediately clear, according to a member of the SPCA assisting in the removal of the dogs this morning.

The SPCA plans to release more information about the seizure later today.
